andreaskarelias.com: About Me

My real love for photography started in the summer months of 2005, when I got my hands on the Nikon D2X camera. It was then that I discovered the need to improve my technique and acquired several photography books, in order to do so.

It was a Bryan F. Peterson book that really fascinated me, it was his excellent writting style, but above else his very dynamic and colourful images.

A few weeks later, I took my first on-line photography class, here at BetterPhoto and Bryan Peterson was my tutor. What a fascinating experience that was. In the following months I took even more classes and had the chance to follow Bryan in two workshops; the first on the Greek island of Santorini, and the second in Lyon, Provence and Beaujolais region.

In November 2006, my picture The beach at Akrogiali appeared as Shot of the Month in the British photography magazine Digital Camera, while the same magazine dedicated the "Portfolio" section of its February 2007 issue to my work.

In recent months, I have been a regular contributor to numerous stock agencies, an experience that, hopefully, is helping my photography reach new levels.

I am married with two children.
